REVIEW #7 | VAL BONNE COUNTRY ESTATE

Some weekends we decide to participate in white people activities + venture a few miles out of the city limits to enjoy fresh air, long MTB cycles, beautiful views + delicious food stuffs / adult beverages to refuel. But to find all these at one spot can be tricky, so we did our best white people happy dance when stumbling across Val Bonne Country Estate located in the Modderfontein Nature Reserve.

We usually nestle our behinds in the garden + indulge in the vast farm-inspired menu under the shade + whispers of the trees. Being the mentioned creatures of habit which we are, we never hesitate to feast on the same meals each + every time we frequent the restaurant. Boring we know, but when somethings good - it's good! Hungry 1 religiously goes for the Lamb Burger Board which is in essence is an appetizing fun build-your-burger experience with thick burger meat which won't disappoint . Hungry 2 departs from the carnivore arena for a moment + delicately noshes on the Butternut, Spinach, Roasted Beetroot + Goat's Cheese salad. The portions are perfectly sized for hungry bellies + once finished eating, it's ever so tempting to sit there all day sipping on cold beverages + taking in the sun . . . even in your muddy cycling gear.

TIPS

There's more than enough parking no matter what time you decide to venture out there. If you have a family with little ones, there's PLENTY of the green stuff for them to disappear + play on. With garden bench seating as well as shaded canopy seated dining, there's much choice no matter what the weather. Be sure to check out the other on-site available venues for multiple functions.

IN A NUTSHELL

Sh*t Hot Tasting 8/10 The food and service is always consistent! Freedom is just amazing. Pay-day or Budget Meal Semi-budget but great value for money! To-be or Not-to-be Service To-be! Dead or Alive Vibey and family friendly.
