REVIEW #2 | MISS GRACE COUNTRY FOOD HOUSE

You know those days when all you want is the smell + taste of good-ol-home-cooking served with doilies (ok, maybe not so much but we are trying to create the ambiance here! Work with us here!) sitting in your favorite aunts beautifully wild and over grown garden with plants + herbs reaching for the sun from old wheelbarrows + wellies. Well your Aunt Vera may be disappointed to know that you may frequent such a place, other than hers.

Tucked away, in the most random of random locations, at Miss Grace Country Food House one is transported into a mismatch furniture country garden within a comforting maze of hidden spots to enjoy lunch, have a that-takes-me-back-to-my-childhood dessert, or sip the afternoon away with a good bottle of wine.

With a more, well, mature crowd; we found the music to be a little too mellow at times but it picked up after a few + it added to the ambiance of the setting. With a vast menu, HO1 settled on the Homemade Chicken Pot Pie with a side of mash, peas + the best darn tasting gravy ever! HO2 went vegetarian with a feta cheese topped Melanzane (eggplant lasagne) slow baked in a Bechamel sauce which transported us to Italy. The food looks like home cooking, so don't dismay when it arrives - but tastes even better! Dare we say, better than grandmas! After relocating to their couches, because our bellies were literally busting, we devoured (after loosening our belts) the signature Lemon Condensed Milk Tart + traditional Custard + Jelly topped with cream and sprinkles. Childhood much?

VENUE TIPS

Take a look out for their weekly specials + live entertainment. They are very active on their social media pages so you can always keep track on what the restaurant is offering. This is a child and pet friendly location. We never heard the few kiddies which were around (their is a beautiful playground hidden off the side of the outside seating) and the pups which were present seemed to be in heaven - there is even a menu for said pups!

Parking is ample and very secure with the friendliest security guard we've come across!

IN A NUTSHELL

Sh*t Hot Tasting 10/10 Pay-day or Budget Meal Mid-month with budget offerings To-be or Not-to-be Service To-be. Staff were friendly and helpful - thank you Life! Dead or Alive Atmosphere is comfort and slow-Sunday like
