REVIEW #6 | SALSA MEXICAN GRILL: BEDFORD CENTRE

We usually refrain from frequenting commercial | chain establishments, however there is one we just cannot get enough of. Thankfully it continues to keep to it's authentic nature and allows one a food experience (+ delicious adult beverages) which don't matte in your mouth + taste as though they've come from the cheapest crop.

Having had authentic Mexican food, literally near the border in grand USA with no English speaking waiters for a 40 mile radius, it's hard to gobble down "Mexican" food at "Mexican" restaurants in Johannesburg! But Salsa Mexican Grill has it down (among a few others we will review later in the game! Winter is coming!). Unfortunately though, we only seem to have the best food luck at their Bedford Centre location + are never disappointed. Their customer service, the vibe, the setting, + food | beverage quality are all darn spot on. It's the perfect arena to people watch and enjoy being "outdoors" without physically being, well, outdoors!

Being creatures of habit, Hungry 1 + 2 dive into the pulled pork nachos every time. It's MASSIVE + even the hungriest of the hungriest may find it a little tricky to finish on their own. It's never soggy (no on got no time for soggy nachos), so tasty, + the combination of flavors + it's layers is just delightful. They have a spectacular variety of craft alcoholic beverages (another unusual bonus for a chain restaurant) and their margaritas are the bomb.

TIPS

Always ask for extra guacamole - the portions are a little small for our liking, but it's never an issue to bring you more of the tasty green stuff! Their high table communal type seating offer the best opportunity to be in the mix of things + are usually available before tables. You might even make a friend or tow!
